Last Christmas I was searching for a Tea subscription to gift to a tea loving friend. I searched high and low, asking everyone I knew but it seemed Tea Clubs/Subscriptions were few and far between. The ones I did find were either well over my budget or wasn’t exactly what I was looking for in terms of variety and flavours.

I have spent the last month sipping on some delicious teas and I’m so excited to share this relatively new subscription with you (including a discount too just in time for Christmas gift giving!).

I recently met Sydney based Laura from Burton Heath. Laura is a Naturopath, Nutritionist and Herbalist. Laura is the creator of Burton Health organic herbal tea and recently started the Burton Health Tea Club.

About Burton Health

“I started this business because I truly care about the wellbeing of others and I want to help you to reach your full health, and life, potential.

How did all of this begin? Well, I grew up in the English countryside collecting wild flowers and making special potions in my yellow bucket. I was drawn to the healing power of nature before I even knew what a Naturopath was.

But then, something happened: I started working in a soul sucking office environment, I became a binge drinking party loving 20-something and I forgot about the pure joys of life.

I decided to clean up my act starting with a few small changes to my diet and then a slight readjustment of my lifestyle devoting myself to listening to my body and helping others to do the same.

And here I am today! A happy healthy 30-something Naturopath” http://burtonhealth.com.au/about-laura/

What is a Tea Club?

You know how you can purchase a magazine subscription and a brand new magazine arrives in your mail each month? The Burton Health Tea Club is just like that… but tastes (I assume) and smells so much more delicious.

Each month you will receive a beautifully wrapped package with one months supply of an amazing tea as well as extra gifts to put a smile on  your face.

Why is Burton Health Tea Club different?

All of the tea blends that are provided to you are certified organic, hand-blended by a Naturopath and then delivered straight to your door with extra goodies to make the whole experience even more exciting! Laura is a Herbalist meaning she has an extensive knowledge of the therapeutic actions of herbs.

If the benefits or health aspect of these teas is of no interest to you, you can enjoy this subscription and just appreciate the tea and flavours. Try something new each month.

There are no flavourings and no nasty chemicals in these blends.

What do I get?

On the first week of each month you’ll receive the following straight to your door:

  • One months supply of an organic herbal tea blend
  • A convenient sample bag to try the blend before opening the new parcel
  • A beautifully presented fact sheet to help you connect with the herbs and their traditional uses
  • Extra gifts to brighten your day

Membership gifts:

  • All members will receive a Burton Health Tea Club travel mug
  • 12 month memberships will receive a convenient tea infuser

Each months bag contains 30 serves of tea. On a 12 month subscription, it makes the cost 80 cents per cup of tea. Very affordable for a flavoured organic tea. No more boring plain tea leaves.

My experience

As soon as my tea arrived I knew this was going to be a high quality product and experience. That’s exactly what the tea club is – an experience. It’s something to enjoy.

Laura goes to so much effort to ensure each package is presented beautifully. Now most people probably don’t care but when a company packs everything nicely including the postal box it’s sent in, I think it says so much about their passion and how proud they are of their product. My package was sent for the purpose for this review and Laura still went to effort to ensure I received my package exactly how a subscriber would.

Everything is packaged beautifully and full information is provided for the teas such ingredients, how to make your tea, expiry etc. There is nothing to guess. It is all spelled out clearly for you.

I love the special gift of the travel mug. To be able to take your tea with you is not only great but for it to be a porcelain travel mug is even better. No need to worry about nasty plastics  etc.

I’m not a tea connoisseur by any means. I just know what  like and don’t like in terms of flavour. For those that love teas and exploring different flavours, you will love this. The teas full of flavour without being overpowering. I particularly liked the Immuni-Tea, T-Stress and Beau-tea blends. I was able to use my tea leaves twice and they were still full of flavour for the second cup.

Not to mention the health benefits of the ingredients included in each blend. See website for more information on each specific blend and it’s benefits.

Other ways to use it

Ok so these are listed as ideas on the Burton Health website but you know me, I like to think of different ways that I can use a product besides traditional hot tea.

These teas make delicious Iced Tea. I made a large jug of the Immuni-Tea with a little sweetener added and lots of ice and it was delicious and so refreshing in this spring heat.

In my new magazine we have a delicious Sultana Tea Bread. I know that any one of Burton Healths teas would work so well in the recipe. Any baking recipe that includes tea or tea leaves would work very well with Burton Health Teas as they are so full of flavour.

Tea leaves in shortbread is an impressive gift idea leading up to Christmas or blitz some through some sugar for a tea infused sugar. Delicious!
