These are a yummy Christmas treat if you are on a budget.

I have another two variations on this to post today as well. Very versatile base recipe.

The trick is to use a flavorsome cocoa powder (or cocao). Surprisingly I love love love Homebrand 100% pure cocoa. The taste is rich and delicious!!!

Chocolate Balls

  • Author: The road to loving my Thermo Mixer

Description

Such a versatile recipe. Add various flavours, essences and liquors to it to suit your tastes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 250g shortbread biscuits, broken up
  • 20g cocoa powder
  • 200g sweetened condensed milk
  • Coconut for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Place biscuits into tmx bowl. Blitz on speed 7 until desired consistency. These can be as fine or coarse as you like.
  2. Add cocoa and blitz on speed 5 for 6 seconds.
  3. Add condensed milk and blitz on speed 4 until a dough forms.
  4. I was able to roll straight away but if you find the shapes collapse slightly, refrigerate it for 30 mins or so.
  5. Roll into balls and roll into coconut.
  6. I keep mine in the fridge.

Notes

  • Add a little extra sweetened condensed milk if you think your mix is a little too dry.
  • Prep Time: 15

Is there an alternative to condensed milk? Don’t do dairy. They look delicious.

I would probably google a dairy free bliss ball or chocolate ball. Quirky cooking will have lots of great ideas I am sure 🙂
