I am not sure where I found this recipe for Chocolate Chickpea Biscuits from. I had it jotted down and loved making these… until the baby sucked the recipe to death. I kid you not. So here are my biscuits by memory. I am hoping I have remembered all the ingredients. Thanks to sleep deprivation from said baby I may have left something out but they taste sooooo good so I’m happy regardless.

They are a delicious soft biscuit. Almost muffin like. Quite similar in texture to my Pumpkin Choc Chip Biscuits actually. So if you like them you will like these.

Hate chickpeas? Don’t worry. So does my partner. He was clueless that they were in there for over 6 months before I finally told him. You cant taste them at all due to the cocoa and sugar.

I use Hoppers 100s & 1000s in this recipe hence the duller coloured sprinkles but given they are free of artificial flavours and colours I can deal with it. I think they look cute.

I found these quite crumbly and soft. I cooked them for a lot longer than stated as well. My kids inhaled them though and they were made for them. Win in my book and will be making them again ๐Ÿ™‚

Hmmm how strange. Were they crumbly upon cooling? They should be soft but not crumbly. Glad teh kiddies liked them ๐Ÿ™‚

Very quick and super easy to whip up. I chose coconut sugar as my sugar of choice and it gave the mix a wonderful almost coffee flavour. They are still baking so I can’t wait to taste the end product.

Made these for school lunch boxes and the kids love them (so do I). I freeze them in zip lock bags (two in each bag) and just grab them out of the freezer and chuck into lunch boxes.

I just love these biscuits. They are to die for! I also have a little chuckle to myself when the kids eat them knowing that if they knew there were chickpeas in them they wouldn’t be touched with a barge pole! I also usually half the sugar and also reduce the cocoa or cacao, depending on what I use. Thanks for coming up with such a great recipe

These are the best! So yummy. I hate sharing them with the kids because I would rather keep them all to myself. My only complaint…it doesn’t make enough!!!
