Description

The mince is something you can freeze and reheat for those nioghts you need a quick dinner. It doesnt take too long to prepare veggies. You could have dinner on the table in less than 10 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 10g oil, peanut or sesame works well in this dish
  • 500g good quality beef or pork mince
  • 45g soy sauce
  • 50g oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 12 baby cos lettuce heads, leaves pulled apart
  • 2 carrots, thinly sliced
  • 100g bean sprouts
  • 4 shallots/spring onions, thinly sliced on a diagonal

Instructions

  1. Place oil, onion and garlic into frying pan.
  2. Fry over medium heat until translucent.
  3. Add mince.
  4. Cook until mince has browned.
  5. Add pepper, water and sauces.
  6. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Stir to avoid burning. You want the meat to absorb the liquid and sauces.
  7. Serve a tablespoon or two of mince in lettuce cups, top with vegetables and sliced shallots.
  8. Serve.

Notes

  • Serve mince mixture over rice and top with sliced veggies if preferred.
