Mini Peanut Butter Choc Chip Cookies

Thermomix Peanut Butter Choc Chip Cookies? Yes please. Mini version? OH YES! These cookies are a tweak on a recipe I used to make years ago and even have here on the blog (you can find it here). I have tweaked the recipe a little lately to make slightly healthier, mini versions with less sugar for the 3 year old. These are a staple in our kitchen at the moment. They are very decadent so go a long way. If you love peanut butter cups and all things peanut butter you will love these! If you make these Thermomix Peanut Butter Choc Chip Cookies please come and share a photo [...]

Mango Passionfruit Yoghurt Pops

I am not going to lie. I had a delicious recipe to share with you tonight buuuuuuut time got away from me and I didn't get a decent photo (well as decent as my photos get!) of it before the sun went down. Being Monday and "On Monday we blog" I couldn't let the day pass without a new recipe. So tonight I want to share one of my old times fave with you. These Mango Passionfruit Yoghurt Pops come from the very awesome (not bias at all *cough*) thermomixing mag The 4 Blades Magazine  and come from The BBQ Issue Vol 2. If you haven't seen it before it's 100% [...]

Homemade Beetroot Wraps

Last week I released my brand new cookbook Mixing with Kids: Sneaky Veggies. I really wanted to share a recipe from the book with you all and ummed and ahhed about which one to share. The second I saw this one whilst scrolling through the pics I knew this was the one to share. If you have been following my blog for some time you will know I love homemade tortillas and wraps. My Spinach Wraps and my Tortillas are still two of the most popular recipes on my blog. SO good!  Making wraps/tortillas yourself is so so easy and they taste so much better than store-bought. I am sure [...]

Cheesy Pesto Scrolls

I LOVE scrolls. When I first starting blogging I posted a recipe for scrolls which is still one of the most popular recipes on the blog. People love a good scroll. Whilst they take a bit of time and patience they are so worth it. You won't buy from a bakery again!  For years we were very basic and repetitive with our scrolls. They were either cheese and vegemite or a pizza type scroll with tomato paste, herbs, capsicum, ham/bacon, pineapple and cheese (so delicious by the way).  Lately I have been loving pesto anything! These pesto and cheese scrolls do not disappoint.  If you haven't got time to make [...]

Avoiding shredded chicken breast in the Thermomix

I have a lot of people ask how I manage to cook chicken breast meals without shredding the chicken. Well it took me a long time and a lot of disappointing meals to work out how to do it. Boy do I mean A LOT of disappointing meals.   This is what I find work for me:   Preparation Make sure you don’t cut your chicken breast pieces too small. Mine are about 2cm x 2cm. I occasionally make the Thermomix hot before put the chicken in. If you can, saute onion, garlic etc first then add the chicken in. I don’t always do this but I find [...]

Festive Mars Bar Slice

I am a massive fan of Mars Bar Slice. It always reminds me of childhood. I think it was a staple at all kids parties in the 90s here in Australia. This is my super easy festive spin on it. My son took this batch to school today for the class party. Not healthy in the slightest but a massive hit!  Note to self: Take a better photo of this one. If you make them please come and share a photo on our Facebook page or come and say in our Facebook group. I would LOVE to see them!

Gingerbread Pudding Biscuits

Well it wouldn't be Christmas without gingerbread and I realised I didn't have a gingerbread recipe on the blog. Eek! Time to fix that. I can't take credit for this idea. My mother in law suggested it to me and I got creating. The actual gingerbread recipe is based off of the one I wrote for The Christmas Issue of The 4 Blades Magazine with a few little changes over the years.  I didn't realise how well gingerbread cookies and white chocolate went together. Oh my goodness - it is DELICIOUS!  If you make them please come and share a photo on our Facebook page or come and say in our [...]

Mini Chocolate Christmas Pudding Balls

These chocolate balls are a massive hit in my house and are something we have made every Christmas for as long as I can remember. They don't last long at all. I went to make a batch today and thought I'd get a little creative and turn these delicious little morsels into little Christmas puddings. So cute!  What I love about this recipe is you can add any flavours you like two the mix. Some peppermint essence is great and Christmasy as is half a teaspoon of mixed spice!  If you make them please come and share a photo on our Facebook page or come and say in our Facebook group. Festive Rudolph Biscuits

So on Monday night I posted my first recipe in a while - my Festive Reindeer Donuts. These were really well received but I got a bunch of messages asking what to do if you don't have a donut machine or tin. Store-bought is perfectly ok and as mentioned in the post, cupcakes and muffins work just as well too.  But it got me thinking - a biscuit is just as easy and cute so thought I would whip up a quick recipe for those wanting a donut/cake alternative. Want a healthier version? Use sliced apple rings. I haven't tried it but think it could be a winner!  If you [...]

No way!? Am I posting a recipe for etc first time in over 12 months? Why yes. Yes I am. Better late than never right?  It is that time of year where we are often invited to events and asked to bring a plate. These are the cutest little things to bring and share that will get everyone talking - and they are so so easy! My kiddies really loved helping me make these.  The idea for these came actually came from a friend. She posted a photo of a donut from a popular donut shop she was eating and I thought "Heck. I can make my own homemade version [...]

Soft bread in the Thermomix is possible!

Bread was the most frustrating thing to make in the Thermomix. It would always be dense, doughy and too heavy. It was edible but it was nothing like the lovely soft fluffy bread you can purchase at the supermarket or bakery. After a lot of experimenting I have found a few tricks to ensure the end result is soft and fluffy. These tips can also come in handy if experimenting with other types or doughs where the final products is a little denser intentionally. My new (daggy) catchphase is "Bake it til you make it!". Making good quality bread and bread products is an art. It takes a lot [...]
