Join us A Double Chocolate Hot Cross Bun pull apart? It doesn't get much better this for Easter breakfast or brunch!  This recipe is based of my popular Hot Cross Buns recipe from 2014. This recipe does not have any bread improver in it. If I'm making bread for friends and don't want to risk it being a flop I'll add just a little in. Bunny Biscuits

Join us Confession: I wish I was an awesome biscuit decorator but I am not (can you tell?). I've always admired decorated biscuits and in awe of peoples talent. Maybe I should do a course and see if I can improve my skills. They can't get any worse right?... right? These Bunny Biscuits are so incredibly easy to make and decorate that they are a great activity for the kiddies over the long weekend (and current school holidays for some). You don't need any fancy equipment (ok so that's probably where I am going wrong. In my defense my piping bag broke) and no fancy ingredients. This is a fun [...]

Caramel Filled Easter Eggs

Join us This is the first recipe of my Easter Week - a week full of Easter recipes for the whole family. I love this recipe because it is 5 ingredients, a few quick steps and something you can whip up in 30 minutes before heading to an event or needing a last minute gift. For these I have used a caramel flavoured egg. Who doesn't love caramel right? But my other favourites are Turkish Delight and peppermint filled eggs. Oh my goodness they are delicious. This recipe is based off my Mars Bar Balls I made in 2013 that were insanely popular. It reached over a million people the [...]

Roasted Capsicum Baked Chicken and Rice

Join us This was a completely random dinner I made up a few weeks ago based off a dinner recipe I would make all the time back in the day. This ended up tasting so good, we cook it often now when we want something fairly simple. It's a very versatile dish: This roasted capsicum chicken is great served with extra steamed veggies and some crusty buttered bread. The meat component is great to BBQ as well. Simply cook each breast fillet on the BBQ for several minutes each side until cooked though. Served with BBQ'd potatoes and some salad. YUM! Serve baked chicken over mash, pasta, cauliflower rice or [...]

Appletana Balls

Join us My kiddies love bliss balls or anything bite size. These are one of their absolute faves along with my Apple Crumble Balls and Mini Fruit Balls. Being gluten, dairy, egg and nut free they make a great addition to the lunchbox or play date.  People of often ask where they can get preservative free apple rings. I have recently found them at Costco. Organic preservative free apple rings. Now they are a bit browner and unappealing compared to other store bought ones but taste just the same! Other ball recipes: Strapple Balls Apple Crumble Balls Apple Peach Pie Balls Mini Fruit Balls Key Lime Bliss Balls Love this [...]

Let me introduce you to my Banana Crumble Bread. So easy and so so delicious. My favourite part of this bread is the crumble topping. It is sooooo good! Little tip: If you are like me and love the crumble as much as I do, make this loaf in a 20x20cm square cake tin and double the crumble recipe. You'll thank me. Quick Chicken San Choy Bow

Join us This recipe is loosely based off my Beef San Choy Bow recipe posted in 2014 but revamped with some new flavours. What I love about this dish is you can serve it as is, in lettuce cups, over steamed rice or alongside some delicious steamed veggies. It is so versatile (and SO delicious!). This is great served hot or cold! I love it cold the next day served with salad veggies. I have cooked this in a large wok but utelised my thermomixer for some of the chopping. The reason for this is I prefer the final result. If you are wanting a TMX method for this, my [...]

Key Lime Bliss Balls

Join us Everyone knows I love a good bliss ball recipe. Why? Because more often than not they are so easy to whip up and only require a handful of simple ingredients. You can whack in anything and hope for the best. Oh, and in a lot of cases they are pretty good for you too (well better than a chocolate bar!). Bliss balls are always a lunchbox staple around here. These Key Lime Bliss Balls are gluten, dairy and egg free! These do contain nuts but can be made using seeds in their place for a lunchbox friendly option. Im loving lime at the moment. So fresh! This have [...]

Chocolate Avocado Biscuits

Join us Yep! Chocolate Avocado Biscuits. My kiddies not only love these but have no clue there is their most hated vegetable, avocado, in them (ok I just learnt that avocados are actually a fruit! Oh the embarrassment!). These are egg and nut free and can even be made without gluten and dairy. Not bad huh!? These came about as a variation of the very popular Chocolate Chickpea Biscuits. I wanted to create something similar (a soft almost cake like biscuit) without the gluten for our gluten free folks (you can use GF flour in this recipe) and also the goodness of a hidden veggie (or surprise fruit) I am [...]

You can easily make one from scratch in no time at all and very little effort. Despite looking impressive, this is one of the easiest meals you will ever make!
